Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research, Göttingen
The MHD Days is an annual meeting of scientists working in any field that might be related to magnetohydrodynamics. Topics span a wide range from fundamental fluid mechanics, industrial MHD to solar- and astrophysics. As during previous years, the meeting aims at bringing together researchers working on general issues of magnetohydrodynamics, plasma physics and related experiments. Theoretical, numerical and observational results from the above-mentioned fields all belong to the scope of the meeting.
We also have the honour of having Friedrich Busse whose 80th birthday will take place this year and Karl-Heinz Rädler whose seminal paper on the alpha effect (M. Steenbeck, F. Krause, and K.-H. Rädler, 1966) turns 50.
